Biography
Michiel Daam is Assistant Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (DCEA) of the NOVA University Lisbon (NOVA) and researcher at the center for environmental and sustainability research (CENSE). He has been involved in various national and international projects into the ecological risk assessment of contaminants with emphasis on the influence of climatic conditions on the environmental fate and effects of pesticides. Research topics include the scientific underpinning of ecological risk assessment procedures, chemical stress ecology in freshwater ecosystems and tropical ecotoxicology. Michiel has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and acts as Associate Editor for the Springer´s journal “Ecotoxicology”.
