Paulo Rosa

Paulo Rosa has a licentiate degree in Environmental Engineering and a Masters in Environmental Management Systems, both obtained at the New University of Lisbon. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. in Digital Media within the UT Austin|Portugal doctoral programme. His research work is focused on the topics of Ubiquitous Computation (The Internet of Things), Invisible Computation, Physical Computation, Printed Electronics, and Personal Fabrication.

Before starting his Ph.D., he worked as a Scientific/Technical Project Officer at the Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen (IPSC), European Commission - Joint Research Centre (EC-JRC). His main tasks included the research and development of innovative information and communication technologies; the design and implementation of virtual citizen participatory methods; and the development of online interactive applications to extended governance initiatives in areas of risk governance and sustainability.

He has more than 10 years of experience in the design and development of dynamic websites and online applications focused on science communication.
