Katherine has a BSc in Environmental Management from Manchester Metropolitan University, an MSc in Environment and Public Policy from Cranfield University and a PhD Environment and Sustainability from NOVA University of Lisbon. Katherine’s PhD focused on the intersections of the policy agendas for climate change, energy transitions and energy poverty in Portugal. With the overarching aim of the PhD being to contribute to the mitigation of undesirable trade-offs between different policy goals. Katherine is currently a Junior Researcher on the EU LIFE ENTRACK project, providing technical support for the development of clean energy transition plans and strategies in rural municipalities and regions in Portugal, Spain, Greece and Italy. In this scope Katherine supports the running of activities with local stakeholders and the development of training and public engagement materials. Katherine is also a member of the Energy Poverty Advisory Hub (EPAH) European project team. Katherine is specialised in qualitative data processing and analysis and has a particular interest in energy poverty and the social behavioral dimensions of energy transitions.
