Biography

Ana Rita Martinho holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (2020). Her master’s thesis, partly developed in Łódź, Poland, focused on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of a hydrate-based carbon capture technology for retrofitting coal and natural gas power plants. From 2020 to 2024, she worked as a researcher and project manager at CoLAB Net4CO2, where she conducted Techno-Economic Assessments (TEAs) and LCAs in the field of Net-Zero technologies, particularly in Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS). She also completed advanced courses in Input-Output Hybrid LCA and Social LCA and gained experience in process simulation and multi-physics modelling for industry. Rita is currently a Ph.D. candidate in sustainable energy and decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors.
