Biography

Leonor Amaral is an Environmental Engineer; Master in Sanitary Engineering and Doctorate in Sanitary Engineering by FCT NOVA. Associate Professor at FCT NOVA. Member of the CENSE - Center for Sustainability and Environmental Research. Research: biological processes of treatment. Author of communications in scientific journals, congresses and national and international conferences. Participated in several Research Projects. Participated and co-coordinated studies of national scope: INSAAR and Inventory of Industrial Waste, among others. Member of scientific committees of Congresses and Meetings in the area of ​​sanitary engineering. Scientific reviewer of several publications. She has participated, as a consultant in the area of ​​wastewater treatment, with several companies and public bodies.

At FCT NOVA she participated in Pedagogical Commissions, Scientific Commissions, Departmental Councils, the Statutory Assembly and the Scientific Council (2015-). Co-coordinator of the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sanitary Engineering and Integrated Waste Management and the Graduate Course in Water Technologies and Management. He has held several positions in the Order of Engineers - Environment College: Coordinator of the South Regional Council, Member of the National Board of Directors and elected member of the Admissions and Qualification Council.
