Yasmine Ayed is a PhD student in Environment and Sustainability at FCT NOVA, originally from Tunisia. Her PhD research focuses on simulating an optimal power configuration for rural and Megacities in the developed countries of the North African region. Yasmine holds an Energy engineer degree from Polytechnic Private Institute of Tunisia, and a Master's degree in renewable energy and energy efficiency from Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal. Her Master's thesis was about wind energy potential assessment in Tunisia considering energy demand in 6 different locations. During the year 2019-2020, she worked as a research assistant within the Institute for Process and Energy Technology (IVET) of Boku, Vienna, Austria. The project developed was about hybrid energy systems (Wind/ Biomass/ Grid), simulation, and optimization using HOMER Pro software.
